OMBERSLEY MEDICAL CENTRE UPDATE

Dear patients of Ombersley Medical Centre,

Thank you for your patience and support during this last year. We are aware of various rumours and meetings which have taken place surrounding the issues present at the practice. In order to remain professional and respect the confidential and sensitive nature of these issues we are unable to disclose the details. We are truly sorry that patients have felt left in the dark but it has not been possible to issue a patient statement.

This week Dr Tucker has now, formally, left the practice. We wish him well for the future and thank him for the care he provided whilst at the practice.

We understand that both for the patients and the practice it has taken a long time to get to this point. We thank you for bearing with us.

The practice is committed to yourselves, our patients, and providing high quality medical care. Dr Moore, Dr Stepien and Dr Conquest will continue to provide medical care. They are supported by high quality and experienced regular locum doctors when necessary until a fourth doctor is permanently recruited. Mr Amit Pal, the practice clinical pharmacist is extending his clinical practice to provide more direct patient care. There has been no change amongst the existing practice nursing staff (Sister Helen Stratton, Sister Catherine Brookes, Mrs Alex Gibbons-Thom, Mrs Hilary Dixon) and we are excited to announce that the nursing team is expanding with a new member of staff joining us to offer more appointments and choice to patients. Miss Andrea Hinton has been providing interim practice management support. We will be looking to secure this position as soon as possible. If you have any questions or feedback we would be delighted to assist. Please feel free to contact Andrea or Dr Moore.

We look forward to developing a close relationship with the patient participation group and would like to meet with the group and invite others from the community to join and help shape the practice.

We will keep you up to date with further developments as and when they occur.

Best wishes and wishing you a healthy and happy new year,

Ombersley medical Centre
